I had some time to sit down and get creative and ended up playing around with the Vintage Bug Dies from Honey Bee Stamps, available at Scrapbook Pal. It was one of those projects where I just wanted to make something fun without overthinking it.
One thing I really like about this design is how versatile it is. You could easily go more masculine or feminine depending on your colors and styling. I decided to go the fun and bright route.

Let’s Get Started
I started off by die cutting all my pieces using different shades of pink cardstock. I wanted something soft but still playful, and mixing a few tones helped give the design some dimension right from the start.
For the rims (I think that is what they are called haha), I ran into a small hiccup—I didn’t have quite the right mid-tone color for the rims. Instead of overthinking it (or digging
through more supplies), I grabbed my Distress Oxide ink and blended a little color directly onto the die-cut pieces.
Honestly, this worked out even better than expected—it gave me exactly the shade I needed and added a little extra depth too.

Building the Background
I wanted to layer the cars to create a full background, so I picked out some additional tones of blues and yellows. This really helped keep things bright and playful.

After gluing all the individual pieces, I ended up with three finished cars. I arranged them on my card base to create a layered background that really brings the whole design together.
Crafty Tip: The Honey Bee website has a layering guide that makes putting the car together so much easier—definitely worth checking out if it’s your first time using the set.
To finish it off, I added a sentiment using the Great stamp set and coordinating dies, which pulled everything together and gave it that final polished touch.
