Honey Bee Stamps Storybook Fall Cards

Posted by Kay Norman on

It's Kay here today with my last blog post as part of the 2023-2024 Scrapbookpal Design Team.  It's been great being able to share with you some of my card creations. I love to shop at Scrapbookpal and working with the great people who run it. Thank you Scrapbookpal!
My card today is from Honey Bee Stamps Storybook Fall Stamps and Dies.  What a perfect fall set for this wonderful time of the year! I just love fall, don't you?
Step 1:
Stamp and color your images on quality white cardstock with Copic friendly black  ink. I used the following Copic colors: Overalls - B93, B95 & B97, the apple tree E25, E27, E29 , G43 and G46 for the leaves and the grass. R32, R35 & R37 for the  apples. E33, E39, E44, E47 for the dogs and YR21 & YR24 for the scarf.
Step 2:
Die cut out the colored images. ( I also used the same Distress ink as my background to add some color to the bottom edge of my die cuts to help them blend in better with the background scene.)
Step 3:
I cut a red A2 sized cardstock background and a slightly smaller white cardstock layer using a stitched rectangle die.
Step 4:
To create my background I used Distress ink in Broken China  and some green ink I had in my stash that matched the Copic greens I used on my die cuts. I just ink blended the background with blending brushes.
Step 5:
Adhere the two layers together and then adhere to an A2 sized white card.
Step 6:
I used my favorite Bearly Art Glue to adhere the two apples, the basket, and the sentiment to the background. I used 3D Foam Squares to adhere the trees and the dogs.
Step 7:
I used Ranger Glossy Accents to make my apples look shiny.
I made a second card "Hay, Friend!" by masking the layers to create a flat card that would be easy to mail.
I used some of the new Fall paper from Lawn Fawn's Petite Paper Pad - Falling Leaves. Copic Markers: Overalls B93, B95, & B97 and C4 for the buttons. The shirt I used YR04 & YR07, the hay bales are Y21 & Y23 with E29. The crows are T6 & T8. The stick and hat are E31, E33 & E35. The cheeks are R32 and the grass is G43 and G46.
I used Distress Ink in Broken China for the sky background.
Happy Fall Ya'll!
