Honey Bee Stamps Sunkissed Summer & Lovely Layers: Beach Bound

Honey Bee Stamps Sunkissed Summer & Lovely Layers: Beach Bound

Posted by Colleen Beamish on

Hi there! Colleen Beamish here from @humorbean_cards. Today I’m sharing a fun summer card featuring the new Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers: Beach Bound Honey Cuts and Sunkissed Summer stamp set & dies.

I absolutely love this new die set from Honey Bee Stamps! The vintage van is perfect for summer cards, but could also be used year-round. For my card, I took inspiration from Barbie and created a pink van. I only used three colors of cardstock for the van to keep things simple. To add interest to the background of my card, I used the Spellbinders Geo Screen Embossing Folder.

When I thought I had finished my card, sentiment and all, I realized that I wasn’t happy with it. It is always tough to decide whether to try to fix it or leave it as is. I’m glad I worked on this card until I was happy with it!

This meant heat embossing the sentiment, “Time for some fun in the sun,” on the same color paper as the background. Then I added a sun to the top of my card. This was very simple to make. I used a die from the Spellbinders Essential Arches die set to create the center shape and then hand cut strips of paper to be sunrays. I am absolutely thrilled with how this turned out!
