Hello, crafty friends! Colleen Beamish here today with a colorful Christmas card featuring products from the Spellbinders Dear Santa Collection. I combined a sweet envelope with lots of festive florals and a little bit of gold shine for this holiday card.
I started by die cutting the envelope from the Happy Post Envelope Die Set using white cardstock. I knew I wanted the envelope to be the main element of the card, but I kept it white so that all of the colorful florals surrounding it could really stand out.
Next, I used the Festive Floral Mix Die Set to create an assortment of flowers, greenery, berries, and stars. I went with a mix of traditional and nontraditional Christmas colors, combining red and green with bright pink, blue, and aqua. I also added gold metallic cardstock to some of the flower centers for a little extra holiday shine.
Once I had all of my pieces die cut, I started arranging them around the envelope. I concentrated the florals in two areas, with pink flowers and greenery coming out from behind the upper left side of the envelope and the poinsettia, berries, and greenery clustered along the lower right. I tucked some of the pieces behind the envelope and layered others on top to give the arrangement plenty of dimension.
A few silver stars scattered around the arrangement helped fill in the open spaces and balance everything without adding another large element to the card.
For my sentiment, I used the Merry Greetings Die Set to die cut “Seasons Greetings” from gold metallic cardstock. I placed it just below the envelope, where the delicate script adds another touch of shine while still letting the florals be the star of the card.
I finished everything on a soft cream cardstock panel and added it to a white card base. With so much color and detail in the die cuts, I liked keeping the background simple and letting all of those little festive elements do the work.
I really like how this card combines traditional Christmas imagery with a brighter, more playful color palette. The Dear Santa Collection has so many pieces that can be mixed and matched, and the envelope gave me a fun starting point for building this festive arrangement.
