Spooky Halloween Card with Sizzix

Spooky Halloween Card with Sizzix

Posted by Andrea Shell on

Hi, crafty peeps! It's Andrea with you sharing my first (but definitely not my last!) Halloween project for the year! I had so much fun crafting this card with Sizzix's Moonlight and Halloween Night Die sets! They're the perfect mix of cute and spooky!

With the Halloween Night Dies, I first diecut the smaller silhouettes from black cardstock and the pumpkins from orange. To add the highlight to the silhouettes, I applied Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide to the edges. I blended the bottoms of the pumpkins with Black Soot before adhering them to the silhouettes. Using the Moonlight Dies, I diecut the large moon from two shades of yellow cardstock and the bats from black. To create some dimension, I blended the top moon layer with a combination of Scattered Straw and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxides and blended the solid moon shape with Fossilized Amber. Again, I used Squeezed Lemonade to add a highlight to the bats.

For my background I started by blending with Squeezed Lemonade roughly where the moon was going to be. I then radiated outward with Wilted Violet, Villainous Potion, and Black Soot before adding spatters of water and white paint. For the ground I diecut white cardstock with Lawn Fawn's Stitched Hillside Borders Dies and blended with Peeled Paint and Black Soot. Once the background was dry, I attached it to a card with double-sided adhesive and popped up the ground with a strip of foam tape.

I adhered the moon to my background with liquid adhesive and attached the silhouettes with a combination of foam tape and liquid adhesive. I affixed the bats to the moon with liquid adhesive. For a sentiment I heat-embossed a phrase from Honey Bee Stamps' Hocus Pocus stamp set and attached it with foam.
Have a great day!
