Spring Daffodil Blooms

Posted by Kay Norman on

Hello! It's Kay here with a couple of Spring Daffodil Bloom cards to show you today.  I used Catherine Pooler's Daffodil Blooms stamps and dies.

Card #1

On my first card I started with some blush cardstock and embossed the petals with Lawn Fawn's embossing powder in white. Then stamped the centers with Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick Oxide inks. I took a Spellbinders mini blending brush and put some ink onto the petals as well.

Then I cut them out using the Daffodil Blooms Coordinating Dies.

Then I stamped the stems in Tim Holtz Mowed Lawn Oxide ink and cut them out as well.

For my background I used the same blush cardstock I used for the daffodils and ran it through my die cut machine with Pinkfresh Studios Diagonal Stitched Plaid Die. Then I inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.

I stamped the Happiness Blooms from Within sentiment included in Daffodil Blooms set in Versafine Black Onyx ink and cut it out with a die I had in my stash.

I assembled my card using the Scrapbook Adhesive Thin white foam squares to adhere my daffodils and adhered my card panel to a white A2 card base.

I decided after I put it all together I needed a bee and some dotted flying lines, also included with the stamp set. I added some Nuvo Crystal drops in Carnation Pink to the centers of the daffodils.

 Card #2

For this card I used the traditional colors for my daffodils and stamped in Tim Holtz's Mustard Seed Oxide Ink on white cardstock. I used the same Mowed Lawn Oxide ink for the stems.

I double stamped the centers of the flower with some Ripe Persimmon Oxide ink for some variation. I cut out all my pieces with the coordinating dies.

I cut out a stitched card front and used Lawn Fawn Secret Garden Window die for my arch.

I used a blending brush to add some Tim Holtz Ripe Persimmon Oxide ink around the cut arch and then smeared some of the same ink on my glass mat. I added some water and flicked some color specks on the arch with a paint brush.

I stamped the other sentiment included in the Daffodil Blooms stamps set - Enjoy the little things onto my card panel with the same Black Onyx ink and used Scrapbook Adhesive Thin Foam squares to the back and adhered it to an A2 white card base.  Then added the shaded arch and assembled my flowers using the same thin foam squares. I added my finishing touches and used some Nuvo Crystal drops in Ripened Pumpkin for the centers like I did in Card #1.

I'm so glad it's finally spring!  Nothing says spring like some bright yellow daffodils!  Happy Card Making!
