It's A Fiesta with Catherine Pooler

It's A Fiesta with Catherine Pooler

Birthdays are worth celebrating...and the perfect excuse for a party!!  Today I'm showing my 'party in a card' project created with several goodies from Catherine Pooler!

Here's what I used and how I created this card...

1.  I layered pattern paper onto the card base, then cut white cardstock using Catherine Pooler Designs Cross Your X's Cover Plate and layered over the pattern paper.

2.  Using Catherine Pooler Designs Party Tag Dies, I created a shaker element. I first cut yellow cardstock with the scalloped rectangle in the set, adhered acetate to the back of the piece, then lined the back of the die cut over the acetate with Scrapbook Adhesives Foam Strips (cut in half lengthwise to make it very thin).

3.  I die cut orange cardstock with the tag die in the set, placed sequins in the very center of the tag, then placed the yellow scallop die cut (w/acetate and foam) and placed in over the sequins; lining it up to be in the center of the tag.

4.  There are several 'banner' dies in the Catherine Pooler Designs Party Tag Dies. I used one of these banner dies to cut cardstock and pattern paper. I used a thin yarn to string the banner die cuts together and adhered the string of banners to the top part of the card.

5.  How cute is this party llama! The images and sentiment are from Catherine Pooler Designs Birthday Fiesta stamp set and coordinating dies. I colored the images with bright colors of Copic Sketch markers (see list below for Copic colors used).

6.  To finish, I added some sequins around the card.  Every party needs a bit of bling!
