Lawn Fawn Pull 'N Slide Surprise

Lawn Fawn Pull 'N Slide Surprise

Posted by Raquel Sanchez-Krohn on

Hello Crafty friends,

Raquel here from @PaintsandGlitter. I am coming along with an adorable card created with Lawn Fawn dies and stamps. I will be using the Pull ‘N Slide surprise, coupled with the stamps from the new Backyard Birdfeeder Collection. I will also use the branch die that coordinates with said stamp.

To make our card, we can begin by cutting all of the layers from the Pull ‘N Slide Surprise dies as seen in the photo. You can also separately cut a rectangle at 3.5"x4.75". This will be the background of your mechanism.

You’ll see that I’ve cut my papers using a rainbow pattern for the uppermost layer, a blue dotted paper for the insert and banner, mirror card for the top tab layer, hello sentiment, and bottom short rectangle, and white card for the scalloped rectangle and long strips.

Begin by folding the uppermost layer (rainbow layer seen above), in a valley, mountain, valley fold among all horizontal layers. Using the long strip die, adhere to the back of the top layer, using the stitched lines as a gauge, and avoiding your insert piece. Adhere the top layer to the insert along the bottom, making sure to also have a visible tab on the top. Next, adhere your background layer only adding adhesive along the outer strip pieces. Next, adorn your card using stamps and the banner and sentiment of choice. I chose to cut the “hello” twice, for additional contrast.

You can use Alcohol safe ink to stamp the images onto the scalloped rectangles, and even create a surprise scene on the inside of your card. Use Nuvo Coloring pencils in Pastel Highlights and/ or Copic markers for a vibrant result. Layer the banner and sentiment so as to create the illusion of a little bird carrying the hello. Adhere the rectangles onto the front bottom of the card, and onto the inside for a surprise reveal. The sentiment reads “ I seed to tell you something”.
