Hi there! It’s Colleen Beamish here from @humorbean_cards. Today, I’m excited to share my process for creating a sweet and cheerful spring birthday card featuring the Lawn Fawn Spring Basket stamps and dies, along with the Spring Basket Add-On: Birthday stamps and dies. This card is full of bright colors and fun details — perfect for celebrating a special spring birthday!
I started by stamping and die-cutting various images from both stamp sets. Since I wanted to create a birthday card, I chose the flowers and the “Happy Bday” sign from the add-on set to tuck into my spring basket. For coloring, I kept things simple with some easy Copic coloring to bring the images to life while keeping a soft, springtime feel.
For the background, I used patterned papers from the Bitsy Blooms Petite Paper Pack. I die-cut circles and added grass and sky details using the dies from the Give It a Whirl Set. After arranging the pieces, I glued them all together to create a layered look. The soft patterns and colors really helped the stamped images pop!
Turning my circle card front into a full card was easy! I die-cut another circle from heavy-weight cardstock, scored it 3/8” from the top, folded it to create a hinge, and glued it to the back of my card front. This simple technique gives the card a clean, professional finish.
