Simplest Gestures (Pinkfresh Studio) by Nancy

HEY FRIENDS! This is Nancy from Rowhouse Greetings and I’m back today with a new project featuring stamps, coordinating dies, layering stencils, and embellishments from PinkFresh Studio. I usually use the layering stencils to color the images, but I decided to pull out my Copics and color the flowers myself.

Today’s project features:

  • Simplest Gestures Stamp Set by Pinkfresh Studio
  • Simplest Gestures Dies by Pinkfresh Studio
  • Simplest Gestures Layering Stencils by Pinkfresh Studio
  • Simply Diamonds by Pinkfresh Studio

I started by cutting a piece of heavy-weight white cardstock to 4.25” x 11” scored at 5.5” for the card base. Then I created the background by cutting a piece of soft gray cardstock to 4.25” x 5.5” and cutting the Simply Diamonds die from a piece of white cardstock. I set it aside to work on the rest of the card.

I stamped the main image twice on a piece of Copic compatible cardstock using Amalgam Ink in  Obsidian by Gina K. Designs. The image was colored with Copic markers (see marker list below). Afterwards, I cut the images using the coordinating die from the Simplest Gestures Dies. I also cut the same shape two more times from a piece of white cardstock.

I stenciled the HELLO sentiment from the Simplest Gestures Layering Stencils on a scrap of white cardstock using Distress Ink in Black Soot. Afterwards, I cut the sentiment plus and other blank using the coordinating die from the Simplest Gestures Dies.

You’ll see in the photos below that I originally intended for the sentiment to be pink. When it was time to put the card together, pink didn’t look right so I changed the color. Sometimes my final card design detours from my original intent!

Once I had all the components for my card, I assembled them as shown. I trimmed off the edges of the image that extended past the edges of the card. I added a few Jewels in Sky Blue from Pinkfresh Studio for embellishment. I think the end result is a bright and cheery card that would brighten anyone’s day.

That’s it for me today! I hope you enjoyed today’s project and I’ll see you back here again soon.

Nancy
