Three Quilted Birds

Three Quilted Birds

Posted by Kay Norman on

Hi it's Kay here today featuring Catherine Pooler's Quilted Birds Stamps and Dies.

I've gathered my supplies, so let's get started.

I started off by die cutting my patterned paper layer from the largest rectangle die from the Spellbinders Essential Rectangle die set and adhered it a white A2 sized card. I then die cut the largest circle from white cardstock from the Pinkfresh Folk Edge Circle dies.

I used my MISTI Stamping Tool and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink pads in the following colors: Aged MahoganyVictorian Velvet, , Seedless Preserves, Gathered Twigs , Evergreen Bough and Salvaged Patina as follows:

Bird #1 is stamped in Salvaged Patina and then without cleaning off my stamp I added some Evergreen Bough  touches and stamped again.
Bird #3 Victorian Velvet with Seedless Preserves touches.
All have Gathered Twigs for the beak and feet.

After each bird is stamped with the layered colors I diecut them out and used a Gold Gelly Pen and filled in the lines. I added some black eyes to each bird.

I embossed "Wish I could be there" with Lawn Fawn's Gold embossing powder by stamping in Versamark ink.
Add your birds with 3L Scrapbook Adhesive Thin Squares and adhere to circle. Add more adhesive squares to the back of the circle and adhere to patterned paper that has been adhered to an A2 white card base.

I added some  Pinkfresh Gold Metallic Pearls to finish off my card.
