What I love most about this card is how beautifully it brings a classic summer memory to life on paper. With the Lawn Fawn Make Lemonade! sets, you get incredibly detailed stamped images and coordinating add-on elements that do all the heavy lifting for your focal points. For this project, I paired a gorgeous, custom-stamped backdrop with a sweet little dimensional lemonade stand to create a card that is bursting with modern personality and charm. Plus, a huge shoutout to Lawn Fawn for providing stencils with this collection. They are perfect for effortlessly blending color onto these images if you prefer to save some time on coloring!
One of my favorite features on this card is the dynamic, layered dimension. Instead of creating a traditional flat design, I used foam adhesive to pop up the lemonade stand and its little mouse workers right in the center of the card. This simple technique adds instant wow-factor and turns a handmade greeting into a beautiful mini scene that the recipient can enjoy day after day. I started by creating the main background panel using the smaller lemon, glass, and crate stamps from the collection. I stamped them across a soft purple cardstock base to create a custom patterned background that offers an awesome modern contrast to the bright focal elements. Once the stamping was complete, I attached the panel to a standard A2 side-folding card base.
The focal point is where this card really comes to life! I stamped and stenciled the gorgeous lemonade stand and those adorable little mouse helpers, blending rich woodgrain tones for the stand and cheerful yellow pops onto the lemons. I die-cut the finished images and layered them right in the center to make the colors pop against that custom purple background.
To add even more fun to the design, I took advantage of the stacked layout to create a two-part sentiment story. On the top of the card, a crisp pink sentiment banner reads "SORRY I WAS SOUR". But the real magic happens when your eye travels down to the bottom base! Nestled right next to the little mouse holding a fresh lemon cake is a matching pink strip revealing the sweet finishing message: "YOU'RE THE ZEST!"
To finish the card, I added a touch of sparkle with perfectly placed Pinkfresh Studio blush glitter drops scattered around the scene. These finishing touches catch the light beautifully and tie together the bright pink sentiment strips for an extra cohesive, polished look. 💎
This project is a great reminder that cardmaking doesn't have to be overly complicated to be deeply impactful. By combining a beautifully blended critter scene, a high-contrast stamped backdrop, and fun punny sentiments, you can create a card that's full of dimension, encouragement, and charm.
