Lawn Fawn - My Rainbow & Give It A Whirl

Lawn Fawn - My Rainbow & Give It A Whirl

Posted by Colleen Beamish on

Hi there! Colleen Beamish here from @humorbean_cards. Today I’m sharing a fun, interactive card featuring the new My Rainbow stamp set and Give It A Whirl dies from Lawn Fawn.

The Give It A Whirl die set creates an amazing mechanism that allows your card to transition from one image to another. It took a little bit of practice to get the hang of, but the result is fabulous!

Using the My Rainbow stamp set, my goal was to create a gloomy, cloudy scene that transitions into a vibrant rainbow. To create the cloudy sky, I did some simple masking and used the Lawn Fawn Cloud Background Stencil with Weathered Wood Distress Oxide Ink.

When the recipient “gives it a whirl” the card reveals a beautiful rainbow and the rest of the sentiment. I used the Give It A Whirl Add-on dies for the scalloped edge and mounted the interactive mechanism on a navy blue square card base. To add some interest to the background, I used the Floral & Diamond Tiles Cover Plate from Pinkfresh Studio.

I love how this card turned out and I’m looking forward to trying out the Give It A Whirl die set with some other stamp sets and techniques. Be sure to watch the video to see exactly how this card came together.

Happy Crafting!
