Hey there, crafty friends! 👋 Welcome back to the ScrapbookPal Blog!
It’s Deepa from @deezinesbyd, and today I’m sharing this charming building card featuring the Spellbinders Everyday City Holiday Collection. 🏙️🌸✨ If you love dimensional die cutting, cheerful summer florals, and adding unique twists to your card designs, this project is definitely for you!

What I love most about this card is how customizable the Everyday City Holiday Collection with it’s add-on sets are. With just a few dies, you can create adorable storefronts, cozy homes, and charming neighborhood scenes that feel completely unique. For this project, I transformed a simple building façade into a flower-filled summer apartment bursting with personality and color.
One of my favorite features on this card is the awnings. Instead of using a traditional single-color design, I decided to give them a fun three-tone twist using metallic silver, white, and lavender cardstock. This simple technique adds visual interest and helps tie together all the colors throughout the card. The reflective silver catches the light beautifully while the lavender coordinates with the building, creating a look that's both playful and polished. I hope you'll love this idea and give it a try on your own projects!
I started by creating the main building structure using soft lavender cardstock. The windows and door were framed with a bright yellow accent to give the building a warm, welcoming feel. Once the structure was assembled, I added layers of window boxes and planters to begin creating the garden-inspired details.

The flower boxes are where this card really comes to life! I filled them with bright summer blooms in shades of coral, pink, and orange, paired with lush greenery for contrast. By repeating the flower colors throughout the design, the entire card feels cohesive while still maintaining lots of fun visual movement. The dimensional layering helps the flowers stand out and gives the storefront a realistic, lived-in feel.
To add even more personality, I incorporated a sweet sentiment sign above the lower flower box and tucked in an adorable little silver cat near the doorway. These small details help tell a story and make the building feel like a place you'd want to visit. It's amazing how a few tiny embellishments can transform die cuts into a scene filled with character and charm.

To finish the card, I added a touch of sparkle with glitter cardstock accents and a few embellishments for extra shine. These finishing touches catch the light beautifully and help emphasize all the wonderful layers throughout the design. 💎✨
This project is a great reminder that cardmaking doesn't have to be complicated to be impactful. By combining layered die cuts, bright florals, and a few creative design choices—like the three-tone awnings—you can create a card that's full of dimension, whimsy, and personality.
I hope this card inspires you to experiment with color combinations, customize your die cuts, and create your own unique Everyday City scenes!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and happy crafting! 🎨✨
