Uplifting Cards using Pinkfresh Studio's "You Are My Rainbow"

Uplifting Cards using Pinkfresh Studio's "You Are My Rainbow"

Posted by Raquel Sanchez-Krohn on

Hello crafty friends!

Raquel here from @paintsandglitter. I am bringing you a batch of cards created with the You Are MY Rainbow collection from PinkFresh Studio. This collection includes uplifting sentiments with matching dies, a cover plate die called Elevated Rainbows that is super fun to use and a matching stencil. Today I will teach you how to use graduated colors of ink from Pinkfresh Studio along with Wow embossing powder and Nuvo products to create glistening cards that will make you smile!

I began by blending PinkFresh Studio ink combinations onto 4.25”x5.5” white panels. Using blending brushes, I created combinations in graduated colors. Once my panels were ready, I also selected a few to embellish further using Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone, and gently applied it onto the panels before cutting. It’s important to let this dry completely. Using the Heat it craft tool cut my time in half!

Using the Elevated Rainbows cover plate, I then cut several of the inked panels, as well as white ones I altered by using an Aqua Shimmer Gloss Pen, also from Nuvo.

Next it was time to heat emboss the sentiments using Wow embossing powder. To get clear sentiments every time, be sure to always prepare your background with the powder tool. This is essential! Once all of my panels were cut and sparkling, I chose different panel combinations to alternate, adding them to white top-folding card bases. Working in assembly-style fashion made this all very easy. Using dimensional adhesives, I topped each card with an uplifting sentiment, then completed the cards with complimentary combinations of sparkling Nuvo Drops. These cards were a joy to make, and I have a video tutorial along with all items used linked below.

Be inspired, Be Blessed!
